Coding Sports Camp Spotlight: June 18th – Minecraft Modding & MAKERS
In this week’s Summer Camp spotlight we check out the week of June 18th – 22nd in our Youth Coding & Sports Camp in Oak Park. This week grades K-3rd will be doing Minecraft Modding & Sports Camps, while grades 4-8th will be doing Multi-Sports Madness & MAKERS Camp.
Current Grades K-3rd: June 18-22nd: Minecraft Modding & Sports Camp:
Legacy Sports and Code Play Learn are partnering to create a week long, full day camp that will engage your child’s mind and body. This camp is specifically designed for students who are currently in K-3rd grade.
Campers will spend half of the day learning how to build their own Minecraft MODS. Each day we will build MODS that campers can play in their own Minecraft Games as they travel through their Minecraft World. During the week campers will learn how to build MODS for Blocks, Tools, Food, Mobs, Minions, Portals, Weapons and more. Our Modding tool is a graphical JAVA tool that allows students to create complex Mods.
This camp is ideal for new Modders and returning Modders, as we’ve created dozens of new Mods to explore and build.
Campers will spend the other half of the day engaged in a variety of athletic activities, featuring dozens of Multi-Sport Madness games like Treasure Island, Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones, Countdown Dodgeball, Battleship, Capture the Flag and soccer. These activities ensure that campers learn how to communicate with each other and work as a team to accomplish their goals.

Current Grades 4-8th: June 18-22nd: MAKERS & Sports Camp
This youth sports and coding camp is specifically designed for students who are currently in 4th-8th grade.
Campers will spend half of the day at our MAKERS Camp. Each camper will build their understanding of STEM as they create, code, construct and play the games they make.
Campers will:

--> How to build circuits and control electronics with Code
--> Learn about engineering as they build a Whiffle Ball Shooter and Egg Crusher.
--> Use our 3D CNC machine to design and cut their own 3D carvings and games.
Campers will spend the other half of the day engaged in a variety of athletic activities. We offer dozens of Multi-Sports Madness games like Treasure Island, Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones, Countdown Dodgeball, Battleship, Capture the Flag and soccer. These activities ensure that campers learn how to communicate with each other and work as a team to accomplish their goals.

Youth Coed Summer Basketball Camp
Chicago Area Youth Summer Basketball
Legacy Sports Camp is offering a summer youth basketball program for students that are entering grades 6-8. It starts June 5th and it will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 at St Luke School in River Forest, Illinois.

Legacy Sports Camp was established in 2008 and is located in the Chicagoland suburb of Oak Park. The youth sports camp has a variety of Chicago youth sports programs for kids in grades K-8. We believe that character has an important impact on young athletes and we instill these positive character traits in all of our programs. Coding Sports Camp Spotlight: August 6th – ROBLOX & APP Creation Camps
In this week’s Summer Camp spotlight we check out the week of August 6th-10th in our Youth Coding & Sports Camp in Oak Park. This week grades 1st-4th will be doing ROBLOX & Sports Camps, while grades 3-7th will be doing Multi-Sports Madness & APP Creation Camp.
Current Grades 1st-4th: August 6-10th: ROBLOX & Sports Camp
Legacy Sports and Code Play Learn are partnering to create a week long, full day camp that will engage your child’s mind and body. This camp is specifically designed for students who are currently in 1st-4th grade.
Campers will spend half their day exploring the fundamentals of coding and building with ROBLOX. ROBLOX is a safe interactive gaming platform that allows campers to imagine, create, and code in an immersive 3d gaming world. Our tool provides campers with every thing they need to create their own game from scratch. We use a drag-and-drop blocks coding library to create our games. Best of all, ROBLOX is a free to download.

This camp is designed for students who are currently in 3rd through 7th grade and is ideal for new and returning campers.
Campers will spend half of the day learning how to design and code their own Apps. Through the use of MIT’s App Inventor programming tool, students will learn the fundamentals of App coding and App design so they can become makers of technology instead of just users of technology. They'll be able to test their Apps on Android devices, supplied by CPL, to see and play their App in a live environment.
Campers will spend the other half of their day engaged in a variety of athletic activities, featuring dozens of Multi-Sport Madness games like Treasure Island, Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones, Countdown Dodgeball, Battleship, Capture the Flag and soccer. These activities ensure that campers learn how to communicate with each other and work as a team to accomplish their goals.
