Meet Your Coach: Joe Herner
This week we salute coach Joe Herner. Joe has been with Legacy since January 2017. He has put in a lot of hard work and effort to make sure his classes run smoothly and that all the kids have a great time. Joe runs after-school camps, baseball camps, birthday parties and also heads up our Lil Legacy program at the River forest Community Center for our littlest campers.

Youth Summer Basketball Camp Starts June 5
Legacy Youth Summer Basketball Camp
Registration is now open for boys and girls in grades 6-8 for the Legacy Sports Basketball Camps. Eight Fun days in June for your child to master his or her basketball skills! The youth basketball program will start June 5th in River Forest.
Its $125 for all 8 days, or you can choose any 4 of the available days for $75. Camps filling up fast, register early.

River Forest Youth Summer Sports Programs
Legacy Sports Camp was established in 2008 and is located in the Chicagoland suburb of Oak Park. The youth sports camp has a variety of River Forest youth summer programs for basketball, flag football and coding & sports camps.

Youth Summer Basketball, Flag Football & Coding Camps
Legacy Sports Camp was established in 2008 and is located in the Chicagoland suburb of Oak Park. The youth sports camp has a variety of Chicago youth sports programs for kids in grades K-8. We believe that character has an important impact on young athletes and we instill these positive character traits in all of our programs. While doing this we provide a fun, safe, challenging, and high energy atmosphere in all of our programs.

Coding Sports Camp Spotlight: August 6th – ROBLOX & APP Creation Camps
In this week’s Summer Camp spotlight we check out the week of August 6th-10th in our Youth Coding & Sports Camp in Oak Park. This week grades 1st-4th will be doing ROBLOX & Sports Camps, while grades 3-7th will be doing Multi-Sports Madness & APP Creation Camp.
Current Grades 1st-4th: August 6-10th: ROBLOX & Sports Camp
Legacy Sports and Code Play Learn are partnering to create a week long, full day camp that will engage your child’s mind and body. This camp is specifically designed for students who are currently in 1st-4th grade.
Campers will spend half their day exploring the fundamentals of coding and building with ROBLOX. ROBLOX is a safe interactive gaming platform that allows campers to imagine, create, and code in an immersive 3d gaming world. Our tool provides campers with every thing they need to create their own game from scratch. We use a drag-and-drop blocks coding library to create our games. Best of all, ROBLOX is a free to download.

Campers will spend the other half of the day engaged in a variety of athletic activities, featuring dozens of Multi-Sport Madness games like Treasure Island, Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones, Countdown Dodgeball, Battleship, Capture the Flag and soccer. These activities ensure that campers learn how to communicate with each other and work as a team to accomplish their goals.
Our camps will run each day from 8:30am-4:00pm. We ask that each camper bring their own lunch. Please remember to exclude any foods that contain any nuts.

Current Grades 3rd – 7th: August 6-10th: APP Creation & Sports Camp
This camp is designed for students who are currently in 3rd through 7th grade and is ideal for new and returning campers.
Campers will spend half of the day learning how to design and code their own Apps. Through the use of MIT’s App Inventor programming tool, students will learn the fundamentals of App coding and App design so they can become makers of technology instead of just users of technology. They'll be able to test their Apps on Android devices, supplied by CPL, to see and play their App in a live environment.
Campers will spend the other half of their day engaged in a variety of athletic activities, featuring dozens of Multi-Sport Madness games like Treasure Island, Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones, Countdown Dodgeball, Battleship, Capture the Flag and soccer. Legacy Sports activities will take place at The Tennis and Fitness Centre located at 301 West Lake Street. Code Play Learn's activities will take place across the street at 132 N. Ridgeland Avenue. One Day Winter Basketball Camps Open
One Day Basketball Camps run 5:00-6:30 at Lincoln Elementary School in Oak Park (1111 Grove Ave.). Camps open to boys/girls in grades 4-7. Each day the players will be led in drills, contests and games to create a more fundamentally sound basketball player.

LaGrange After School Sports Camps – Congress Park Elementary School
Enrollment is open for our after school youth coed sports camp at the Lagrange school of Congress Park Elementary.

We are offering the multi-sport madness program to kids in grades K-3rd starting March 5th and ending May 21st. The program will meet once per week on Mondays for a total of 9 classes with off dates 3/26, 4/2 and 4/23.
The multi-sport madness is our most popular program and includes variations of traditional gym games like relay races, tag, capture the flag, dodgeball, soccer as well as our popular Legacy games like Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones and Battleship.
