Meet Your Coach: Joe Herner

This week we salute coach Joe Herner. Joe has been with Legacy since January 2017. He has put in a lot of hard work and effort to make sure his classes run smoothly and that all the kids have a great time. Joe runs after-school camps, baseball camps, birthday parties and also heads up our Lil Legacy program at the River forest Community Center for our littlest campers.

Favorite Legacy Program: "All classes are always fun, but my favorite program is the multi-sport madness because we get to play a bunch of different games."

Favorite Legacy Memory: "When I teach a kid some thing new, doesn't even have to be sport related. Happens all the time!"

When I'm not at Legacy, I am most likely.. "Playing music! I built a studio at my house and love producing music. I also play in a band, I'm the guitar player!"

Youth Summer Basketball Camp Starts June 5​​​​​​​

Registration is now open for boys and girls in grades 6-8 for the Legacy Sports Basketball Camps.   Eight Fun days in June for your child to master his or her basketball skills! The youth basketball program will start June 5th in River Forest. 

Its $125 for all 8 days, or you can choose any 4 of the available days for $75.  Camps filling up fast, register early.

YOUTH SUMMER BASKETBALL ACTIVITIES

Chicago Co-ed summer basketball program open to students entering grades 6-8. Features Mini-Tournaments, Shooting contests, Skill competitions, Shooting Milestones, & Daily Drill work.

Time: 6:00-7:30PM

Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Dates: June 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 & 28.

Location: St. Luke School (519 Ashland Ave. in River Forest)

Fee: $125 for all 8 days or 4-Pack for $75 (4 dates of your choosing)

River Forest Youth Summer Sports Programs

Legacy Sports Camp was established in 2008 and is located in the Chicagoland suburb of Oak Park.   The youth sports camp has a variety of River Forest youth summer programs for basketball, flag football and coding & sports camps.

Legacy Sports also offers River Forest youth summer camps where the kids will engage in a variety of sports activities including Dodgeball, Soccer, Hand Hockey, Battleship, Capture the Flag and more.

Youth Summer Basketball, Flag Football & Coding Camps

LaGrange After School Sports Camps – Congress Park Elementary School

Enrollment is open for our after school youth coed sports camp at the Lagrange school of Congress Park Elementary.

We are offering the multi-sport madness program to kids in grades K-3rd starting March 5th and ending May 21st. The program will meet once per week on Mondays for a total of 9 classes with off dates 3/26, 4/2 and 4/23.

The multi-sport madness is our most popular program and includes variations of traditional gym games like relay races, tag, capture the flag, dodgeball, soccer as well as our popular Legacy games like Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones and Battleship.

(You may only register for camps at the school in which you attend.)

Established in 2008, Legacy Sports Camp was founded by Oak Park natives, Dan Kane and Caleb Fields. We provide Youth Sports Camps in the Chicago area including Oak Park and River Forest.  Legacy provides after-school programs, holiday camps, birthdays, block parties, summer camps, instructional training and leagues.
